We have recognized a few different needs in our community and would like to begin raising funds to assist patients who may need assistance with one of the following needs:
Dialysis Project – There have been times when dialysis patients have had difficulty getting to dialysis or medical appointments for their renal disease. We have assisted in paying for public transportation to transport them to and from dialysis. A specified account for this need will help the dialysis patients in the community. A staff member from the dialysis clinic can verify that a need exists.
Foot Loose Fund – It has come to our attention that a Wells resident is in need of a prosthetic leg for mobility. Insurance will not cover and they have reached out to Friends For Life for assistance. This account will be used specifically for a prosthesis.
Mobility Project – There have been several individuals in the community who do not have the means to transport themselves either by vehicle, wheelchair, scooter, etc. This fund would be used specifically to assist individuals in obtaining “wheels” for mobility.
Respiratory Project – Friends for Life has been sought for assistance in helping patients who need oxygen to return home from the hospital. This account would be used specifically for oxygen needs, with the understanding that Friends For Life will only provide the machine, but will not be able to maintain it or continue providing monthly compensation.
Van Project - We are supporting Andy Bell in his efforts to purchase a van that he will be able to drive. Andy was injured in a high school rodeo and is a quadriplegic. He has obtained his drivers license and is in pursuit of purchasing a van that can be modified to fit his wheelchair and adaptations.
